To ensure the security of cryptocurrency withdrawal transactions, Indodax provides an “Address Management” feature that allows you to add destination addresses to a trusted list (whitelist). When you choose to add a whitelist entry using the username method, the system will display several required fields: Recipient Name and Username.
We understand that some members often feel unsure and wonder: Does the Recipient Name field have to match the destination Username exactly?
The answer is no, they do not have to match. These two fields serve different purposes. Here is a detailed explanation:
Recipient Name (As a Personal Tag/Label): This field does not have to match the recipient’s username. Its primary function is simply as a tag, memo, or personal label to help you identify the owner of that address in the future. You are free to fill this field with a nickname, full name, or any note that is easy for you to remember.
Destination Username (For System Validation): This field must be filled in correctly and 100% accurately according to the official username of the other Indodax member who is the destination of your asset withdrawal. The Indodax system will use the data in this field as the asset transfer route, so typing errors can cause the transaction to fail or be misdirected.
