What is a Deposit Address Change?
A deposit address change is the process of updating or migrating the deposit address for specific crypto assets in your Indodax account. This process is carried out periodically for security reasons, system maintenance, and wallet infrastructure adjustments.
Why Did My Deposit Address Change?
It is important to note that Indodax does not provide personal wallet services. The deposit address you see in your Indodax account is managed by the Indodax system, so this address can change at any time for several reasons, including but not limited to:
System security enhancements
Wallet infrastructure maintenance or migration
Internal policies regarding asset management
What is the Impact of a Deposit Address Change?
1. Deposit Address Changes
After a deposit address changes, the old address will remain functional for a limited transition period (grace period). However, we strongly recommend using the new deposit address immediately to ensure smooth transactions.
Attention: After the grace period ends, the old deposit address is no longer valid. Deposits sent to the old address after this period are at risk of not being processed or refunded. Therefore, you should immediately update and use the latest deposit address from the Deposit page.
2. Addresses in Address Management are Deleted
If you previously saved an Indodax deposit address in the Address Management menu, that address will be automatically deleted after the deposit address change process takes place.
This applies specifically to addresses that are Indodax deposit addresses. Your own personal wallet addresses saved in Address Management are not affected by this process.
What Should I Do?
To ensure your deposit process is not hindered, please follow these steps:
Always check the latest deposit address directly on the Deposit page before transferring crypto assets to Indodax.
Do not save or rely on the old deposit address that was previously saved in personal notes, wallet applications, or other exchanges.
If you use the Address Management feature for whitelisting/saving addresses, update the address again with the new deposit address from the Deposit page.
FAQ
Q: Will my balance be lost if the deposit address changes?
A: No. Your crypto asset balance in your Indodax account remains safe and is not affected by the deposit address change.
Q: What if I have already sent a deposit to the old address after the deposit address change?
A: Immediately contact Indodax Customer Support and attach proof of the transaction (TXID/transaction hash) for further checking if the deposit has not yet arrived.
Q: Are all crypto assets affected by the deposit address change?
A: Not always. Deposit address changes can be made for certain crypto assets only, depending on system needs. Always check the Deposit page to ensure the address you are using is the latest one.
Q: Do I need to re-verify after a deposit address change?
A: Re-verification is not necessary. You only need to make sure you use the new deposit address when making transactions.
