We would like to inform you that knowing the price of a cryptocurrency is the foundation of every trading decision. However, the price you see on the public market is not always the same as the actual price of the asset you hold in your portfolio. As an Indodax member, there are two main types of prices you should be aware of: the Current Market Price and the Average Entry Price. Here is a guide on how to identify and utilize these two types of prices on the Indodax platform:

  1. Current Market Price (Market Price)

The Market Price is the value of your cryptocurrency on the exchange at this moment. This is the price you use to buy or sell assets.

  • Advanced Chart: This is the most accurate source of real-time prices. The most recent executed price is displayed prominently at the top of the chart.

  • Order Book: You can see the highest buy price (Bid) and the lowest sell price (Ask), which indicate the price range at which transactions will be executed right now.

  • Market List: On the main market page, you’ll see the latest prices updated in real time for each pair (e.g., BTC/IDR).

  1. Average Entry Price

The Market Price reflects the asset’s external value, while the Average Entry Price reflects the asset’s value to you personally.

  • Average Price in Transaction Details: Open an asset—for example, BTC—then click “Order” in your transaction history to view your buy and sell order history. You can click on any Buy transaction to view the “Average Entry Price”.

  • PnL Calculation: This is the basis used by the Indodax system to calculate the Return Value and Profit and Loss (PnL) in Rupiah, which are displayed in your Portfolio.

The Current Buy/Sell Price reflects the Market Price shown in the Advanced Chart or Order Book, providing real-time transaction values and the status of your investment. To track your personal profit status, check the Average Buy Price in the Portfolio menu. By monitoring both types of prices simultaneously, you can make accurate, data-driven trading decisions on Indodax.
