In an ever-evolving digital ecosystem, account protection has become an increasingly vital aspect to consider. One of the available methods to elevate your account security standards is by using an Authenticator as part of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for an additional verification process.

What is an Authenticator?

An Authenticator is a mobile application that generates dynamic verification codes periodically. These codes consist of 6 unique digits that are updated every 30 seconds.

The app utilizes the TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) protocol, meaning the generated codes are accurately synchronized with our system in real-time, without requiring an internet connection to display the numbers.

Advantages of Using an Authenticator App

  • Efficiency Without Signal Dependency: Unlike codes sent via SMS, Authenticator apps work offline.

  • Independent Verification Path: Codes are generated directly on your device without passing through third parties, ensuring a more private and self-contained verification process.

  • Instant Access: The verification process is significantly faster. Simply open the app and enter the displayed code.

How to Get Started

Integrating an Authenticator with your account is very straightforward:

  1. Download the App: Choose an official application available for download, such as Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or Google Authenticator.

  2. Scan the QR Code: In your Indodax account security settings, select the 2FA via Authenticator method, then scan the provided QR code.

  3. Done: Your account now has an additional layer of protection.

  1. Log in to your email account and open Security Settings.

  2. Enable Two-Step Verification (2FA).

  3. Select the Authenticator App option.

  4. Scan the QR code using Authenticator such as Microsoft Authenticator, Authy or Google Authenticator.

  5. Enter the verification code to confirm.

We are committed to continuously providing the best technology to ensure your digital experience remains smooth and secure. Using an Authenticator is a proactive step available to every user to create a more organized and protected digital environment.

Note: During activation, please ensure you record and store the provided Backup Codes in a safe place. These codes are your primary master keys should you ever lose access to your mobile device
