NIORA on KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit Card) or KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit Card) stands for “Foreigner Identification Number”. NIORA is an identification number given by the Directorate General of Immigration to every foreigner who has a residence permit in Indonesia, whether it is in KITAS or KITAP status.

NIORA functions as follows:

  • Identification : As a unique number to facilitate the identification of foreigners living in Indonesia.
  • Administration : Used in various administrative matters related to residence permits, extension of residence permits, or other purposes in Indonesia.
  • Monitoring : To monitor the presence of foreigners in Indonesia, whether they comply with immigration regulations or not.

This number is usually printed on the KITAS or KITAP card issued by Immigration and is used for all processes related to foreigners' residence permits in Indonesia.
