An oscillator is a system that experiences regular and continuous periodic movements. Oscillators can be mechanical, electronic, or other physical systems. In blockchain development, oscillators are used in the BRC-20 fungible token standard. BRC-20 is an experimental fungible token standard designed specifically for the Bitcoin blockchain. The standard allows developers to create and transfer fungible tokens using the Ordinal protocol, which uses JSON scripts to enable token creation and transfer. BRC-20 does not use smart contracts like Ethereum's ERC-20, but uses Ordinals inscription of JSON data to deploy, mint, and transfer tokens.
