Liquid restaking is the process of increasing the economic security of an external system by restaking liquid staking tokens (LST) received from a staking protocol.

In the Ethereum ecosystem, users can stake their ETH to protocols such as Lido and receive a synthetic LST representing the staked ETH. This LST can then be restaked into a liquid restaking protocol, resulting in a new liquid restaking token (LRT).
