INDODAX currently supports 3 types of Bitcoin Addresses to withdraw and deposit on the INDODAX account, these are :
- Legacy Address (P2PKH/Pay-to-Pubkey Hash)
This address is the original type of the Bitcoin network that can still be used today. Bitcoin addresses of this type have the characteristics of starting with the number "1". Addresses with this type are not compatible with Segwit addresses, so addresses with the Legacy type cannot receive BTC from addresses with Segwit and Native Segwit types. In addition, shipping costs to Legacy addresses tend to be higher than Segwit because transactions in blocks are larger in size. - Address type Segwit (P2SH/Pay to Script Hash)
Segwit is the result of the soft fork experienced by the Bitcoin blockchain. Segwit addresses start with the number “3” and can accept shipping transactions from other types of addresses, including those of the Legacy type. - Address type Native Segwit (Bech32)
As the newest type compared to other types, Native Segwit is often known as a Bech32 address and has lower shipping costs than the Legacy type. This type of address starts with “bc1” and is mostly used in personal wallets.
If you have problems sending Bitcoin from your Indodax wallet to an external wallet, please make sure your address is compatible with the Bech32 address. Meanwhile, if you want to deposit to an Indodax account, please check the address on your Indodax account and if the sender's address is compatible and can receive it.
